For over 25 years Grendon has been twinned with the small village of Bois Bernard in the Pas de Calais Nord. Members are twinned with a French family who accomodate them for the weekend (and vica versa when they come to us).


Visits to France

On alternate years twinners travel to France or receive the French twinners here. The typical format of a visit to France is as follows:


  • Travel to Bois Bernard - arrive 12 noon
  • Drinks and canapes in the Salle de Fetes with short speeches by the respective twininng Chairmen
  • An afternnon with the host family
  • Evening civic reception courtesy of the Mayor and village


  • Day with host family

Monday morning

  • Depart for home 9.30 am
